The Corporate Quality Manager for Shearer's Foods, Inc., will plan, direct, and coordinate the quality assurance function for all production operations and oversee the technical development of new products. This is accomplished by directing the efforts of the professionals within the functions, and by integrating the Companys regulatory compliance requirements, manufacturing standards, and product marketing strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement innovative quality assurance programs that proactively and effectively monitor product manufacturing in a way that result in company compliance with regulatory GMP and HACCP standards and customer product requirements.
Establish manufacturing specifications, standards, protocols and procedures for quality control and new product development.
Develop and execute training programs that support the Companys objectives with regard to quality and product development.
Monitor customer complaints and institute plans for root cause analysis/corrective action with timely response to customer.
Apply administrative and record-keeping processes to support the programs listed above.
Ensure Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) are followed to monitor essential product attributes and maintain adherence to specifications.
Provides technical support and input to the Sales and Marketing functions to identify new product/innovation opportunities.
Interact with internal and external customers to determine new product requirements for production trials.
Partner with Marketing and Manufacturing on new product launches.
Generate nutritional information for label compliance based on product formulation.
Provide ongoing communication to the entire company, and especially senior management, with regard to quality and product development.
Essential Requirements:
Four year degree in a related, technical field such as food science, chemistry, microbiology or the equivalent in experience; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the food industry demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage a professional staff in executing complex technical programs.
Multi-facility and multi-product line experience.
Willingness to travel.
