Responsibilities

Design, configure, build, and coach WAS security (JEE security) for the enterprise solution as well as one immediate project solution needs.
Provide coaching and knowledge transfer to the existing WAS administrative support team and to provide individual support for the system as required for WAS 6.x and WAS 7.0.
Provide improvement recommendations in the automated scripting and deployment methodology of our WAS environment.
Develop long and short-term technical roadmaps focused on systems consolidation and cost optimization.
Development and documentation of a fix-pack implementation strategy.
Development and documentation of a software currency model for the WAS environment that is integrated with the fix-pack and deployment models previously identified.

Required Skills

Demonstrated strong understanding of the Java EE 5 application model, including EJBs, JSP, HTTP sessions, and Servlets.
Strong understanding of Java EE 5 technologies, such as JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, and JAAS.
Strong understanding of HTTP Server concepts.
Strong work experience in system administration in UNIX and SUSE Linux, physical and virtual.
Demonstrated strong work experience in Internet concepts (for example, firewalls, Web browsers, TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, and so forth).
Strong work experience in standard markup languages such as XML and HTML.
Strong work experience in Web services, including SOAP, UDDI, and WSDL.
Demonstrated knowledge of Bean Scripting Framework languages.

Core Administration Skills

Strong to expert SME Administration skills in the following areas:
Ability to describe and implement the architectural concepts related to WAS 7.0.
Strong work experience in the Installation and configuration of WAS and IBM HTTP Server (IHS).
Demonstrated strong knowledge of the concepts of the Java 5 Platform, Enterprise Edition (JEE 5).
Past work experience in installing server-side Java enterprise applications, using WAS administrative tools to configure and manage enterprise applications, configuring security for server-side application resources, deploying applications in clustered environments, viewing performance information about server and application components.
Demonstrated knowledge of WAS support for scripting and automation.
Past work experience coding in Jython to develop, test, and debug automation scripts, and writing scripts to automate common WAS administration tasks.
Preferred CISSP Certification
-Preferred IBM Certified Advanced Systems Administrator - WebSphere Application Server Certification.
